Facilitation is creating an environment that encourages and enables communication, creativity and ideas. It requires the ability to listen, understand group functioning, dynamics and most importantly to build trusting relationships with every person in the room. I most commonly facilitate workshops in communication, impact and presentation skills for groups and teams as well as Mental Health Awareness Workshops. For performers and graduates this may be an audition workshop in interviewing and networking skills. For a business partner or a City Council I might work with teams to explore management and strategy. Trainee doctors need to explore how to talk to patients and handle difficult conversations and bad news.

Personal and Business Coaching
A coach is someone “who will hold up a mirror for you to see your own thinking process” and help you achieve your potential, it is about creating mobility and achieving your goals. I work on the premise that people have the solutions to their own problems, but they sometimes need help and encouragement to see those solutions. I do not give advice or provide answers. Typically a coaching session will be one and a half to two hours in length hours in length and is most effective if there are four to six sessions over a six-month period. I can come to your work place or meet you at my own office at a time that suits you. 

Performance Skills Coaching
A skills coach is someone who will help you with a specific problem or need. This may be private coaching for a presentation, interview or a pitch or a vocal problem. I can offer feedback and an analysis on your posture and alignment, vocal quality and pitch, as well as your breath. Skills coaching gives you an opportunity to practice and explore ‘habits’ as well as build your confidence, presence and personal impact away from the spotlight. I have spent 30 years working as an acting tutor and coach in leading drama schools.

I work with a huge range of individuals across all sectors, most typically in their own work place. To protect their anonymity they are not named here.

rkshops I facilitate are informed by my practice and experience working with professional performers and in the business sector, underpinned by sound psychodynamic and social theory. I believe you learn through doing, having fun and sharing best practice. I work with groups of up to 12 and can deliver short half day courses to full development programmes over 6- 12 months.
